Stories of Success and Entrepreneurship of
Creative Syrian Women
Initiative: “Syria, Mother of All”
Syria – Aleppo, September 22–24, 2022
Artizana Syria is a proudly Syrian project,
established in 2010 with the goal of transforming the reality of Syrian
handicrafts and artisanal work. It has become a consistent partner in promoting
these crafts, presenting them in a manner befitting their beauty and
significance, especially in the Syrian market. The project primarily focuses on
supporting Syrian handicrafts, elevating them to a professional level, and
establishing them as a recognized profession across various sectors, with the
aim of preserving the country’s heritage and culture for future generations.
Building on social responsibility and
supporting small producers, small businesses, and development projects to
achieve self-sufficiency, and driven by a commitment to introduce Syrian youth
to their rich and diverse heritage, Artizana Syria launched the “Syria, Mother
of All” initiative in Aleppo. This initiative also aims to promote the creative
home-based and traditional crafts made by Syrian women.
The event featured an exhibition of products
from small producers and companies, alongside a workshop for children with
special needs, where the children participated in preparing and assembling a
collection of handmade products. Artizana Syria emphasizes the importance of
children understanding and engaging with Syria’s heritage, allowing them to
appreciate the uniqueness and beauty of what their ancestors created, ensuring
that this legacy remains in safe hands for generations to come.
The following day, the initiative continued
with a visit to a nursing home, where the handmade gifts created by the women
participating in the exhibition were presented.
