Damascus, Syria –
December 24, 2020
As part of the event “Reviving Heritage
from Ancestors to Descendants,” held on December 23, 2020, at the Sheraton
Damascus Hotel, this initiative reaffirms Artizana Syria’s commitment to
connecting younger generations with their cultural and human heritage, while
promoting values of giving and social solidarity among children.
A special handicraft workshop was
organized for children with special needs, during which they were introduced to
traditional Syrian handicrafts and participated in creating small handmade
items.
The importance of the workshop was not
limited to its educational and creative aspects; it also extended to a profound
humanitarian dimension. These handmade items were donated to the Children’s
Hospital for cancer patients, conveying a message of love and hope that
reflects the solidarity of the participating children with their peers and
reinforces the values of community engagement and humanitarian responsibility
from an early age.
Through this initiative, Artizana Syria
seeks to instill values of compassion and belonging, and to emphasize that
handicrafts are not merely a cultural heritage, but also a means of human
connection and a way to spread joy and hope in the hearts of others.
