Reviving Heritage from
Ancestors to Descendants”
Damascus, Syria –
December 23, 2020
Sheraton Damascus Hotel
This event aims to introduce children to
Syrian handicrafts and artisanal work, especially at a time when technology and
electronic games occupy a large part of their daily lives. The main goal is to
encourage children to explore Syria’s rich heritage, pay attention to its
details and history, and dedicate time to learning more about this great
civilization.
Over the past years, the Artizana Syria
team has worked to turn challenges into opportunities for success by expanding
and diversifying Syrian handicrafts, opening new marketing channels outside the
local market to support artisans, and encouraging them to achieve wider
recognition for their authentic craft.
Artizana Syria also focuses on
familiarizing children with the cultural heritage of their country, instilling
the historical significance of Syria’s rich legacy in their minds, and bringing
them closer to the art, authenticity, and creativity that their ancestors once
mastered.
The initiative included a visit by
children to Al-Sulaymaniyah Tekkiyeh to explore various crafts through direct
interaction with artisans. The program also featured a workshop for children
with special needs, where they assembled a collection of handmade products that
were then donated to an association dedicated to children with cancer.
