Al-Aghabani ( Embroidery )

Aghabani is known in Syria first in Damascus then Aleppo and the other provinces. It is a cloth of silk threads ( sadaa and lahmeh ). It embroidered in golden and silver threads after it’s knitted. It has several drawings that is processed using wooden plates and each drawing has its name like ( jocklan, nut, daisy, jasminum sambac … etc ).

It is used to make types of old folk dresses like kenbaz and it is used nowadays for making table covers that attract tourists.
